Hogwarts Doesn't Hold a Flame to the MTC

Dear Family and Friends,
It's been one week since I left to serve the Lords mission, but it feels like a lifetime. Time passes a lot differently here at the MTC, a day feels like a week and a week feels like a day. By the second day I was already best friends with my companion Sister Park and our District instently connected and bonded. We are deffinately the musical district. We all love to sing and we have an entire choir with every vocal part represented. The harmonies are beautiful and it always invites the spirit into our study time when we start with a Hymn. The Spirit here at the MTC is palpable, I feel it everywhere I go. The MTC Presidency said that Angels walk the halls of the Missonary Training Center and I know that is true. The other night I was brushing my teeth and looking at the mirror. Slowly I started to feel people suround me, but there was nobody there. I then felt all these people extend their arms and rest there hands upon my shoulders. I don't know who those spirits were, but I know they need my help. I guess the Angels roam the bathrooms as well as the halls =) Everything I do here at the MTC makes me feel the spirit, but I was overwhelmed by the spirit on Sunday night. We were able to watch a talk by David A. Bednar called "Character of Christ". Please look up this talk and watch it with an open heart and mind. One line from this talk was "There would be no Atonement without the character of Christ". I really took that to heart and it made me want to know my Savior more, to know what it is about him that made Him perfect, what about him made it possible to suffer through Gathsemene and being crucified all to save me, Sister Williams. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, with all the fiber of my being. I know he suffered and died to save me and all of you. I love Him and have come to know him personally and it has brought me true and everlasting happiness and that is why I am serving His mission. I can't keep this happiness to myself I have to tell everyone what I've found. I love you all so much and I urge you to come to know your Savior. It will change your life and the lives of others.
Love,
Sister Williams

Adieu, Adieu to you and you and you...

Well folks the time has finally come! I will be leaving, on August 20th, to serve an 18 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in South Dakota. While I'm gone my Dad will be posting my weekly e-mails on this blog. If you want to send me letters or e-mails while I'm away I'll leave my address and e-mail under my beautiful picture to the right. I'll be in the Missionary Training Center (MTC) for the first two weeks and if you wish to send me letters there the fastest way to do this is by going to DearElder.com and sending a letter that way or by e-mailing me. However, if you want to send me a lovely handwritten letter my address at the MTC is:

Sister Makaela Nicole Williams
SEP01 SD-RAPI
2009 N 900 E Unit 134
Provo UT 84602

I'm excited to serve the people of the South Dakota Rapid City Mission and I can't wait to get out into the field. I want you all to know that I love this gospel. It has brought me so much peace, happiness, light, comfort, and joy. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know he atoned for my sins and died for me so I could return to live with Him and my Heavenly Father. I know there is a living Prophet on the world today, Thomas S. Monson, who is God's mouth piece to us. I know the power and authority of God has been restored to this earth and it is through that power and authority that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints operates. I love you all and wish for you to gain this happiness for yourselves.

Love,
(Almost Sister) Williams

P.S. Here's a map of the area my mission covers!
